While parts of the country suffer from winter storms, the southern part of the country is on alert for the risk of forest fires.
The states of New Mexico, Texas, Kansas, Santa Fe, Colorado, Nebraska, and Florida are on the map as being at moderate to extreme risk for wildfires that could intensify due to winds driven by a low-pressure area formed off the coast of IDAHO.
This winter storm system is expected to move toward Montana and North Dakota, channeling strong winds over the southern states.
With the advance of the low-pressure system over the country and the strengthening of winds coming from Mexico and western Arizona, the relative humidity drops drastically Hydration levels between 13% and 25% trigger warning signs regarding hydration.

Temperatures are expected to rise, especially in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Kansas as can be seen in the satellite animation showing the period from 11 am to early afternoon on Wednesday.
